The error “Camera error – Can’t connect to the camera.” seams to be the most random and annoying issue most of the Nexus users get these days. I my self being a Nexus 5 (Marshmallow 6.0.1) user I noticed I get this error very often last few week.
But gladly I managed to fix the error a day before my family vacation last weekend.
Root cause: The camera is being used but some application running in the background.
according to my research most of the website and forums suggested the camera is being used by some 3dr party application that runs in the background, such as “Viber, Whatsapp, Skype, Facebook, Snapchat”.
Solution: I even tried uninstalling the above-mentioned applications but had no luck. but finally i found out the issue is caused but the face recognition feature in smart lock.
Settings >> Security >> Smart Lock >> Trusted face
Disable the Trusted face feature.
This fixed the issue on my device completely. It seams that I don’t even miss the trusted face feature that much any way.
Hope you found this FIX useful. Please leave a comment below is this helped, and any further questions as well….
