Here are the steps to configure tethering in Windows XP.
- First of all you need to download the driver file. You can just right click this link & then save it on to your computer. (http://www.android.com/drivers/tetherxp.inf)
- Once done saving the file, connect the android device using the USB cable to your Computer.
- Then, go to Settings on your mobile > select Wireless & Networks > Tethering & portable hotspot.
- Under Tethering & portable hotspot select USB tethering(turn it on).
- Then a dialog box will appear on your windows XP computer, “new hardware wizard“.
- There select “No, not at this time“ and click Next.
- Then, select “Install from a list or specific location” and select Next.
- Then select Browse.
- Choose the file directory where you saved the configuration file that just you downloaded in Step 1 and click Next.
- Then the configuration file will do its trick and configure Windows XP to support USB tethering with the Android devices.
- When Windows XP finishes installing the software for Android USB Ethernet/RNDIS, click Finish.
